Meet Robby
Robby Auld, LMHC (they/them)
Individual Therapist, Expressive Arts Therapist
Robby is a queer and genderfluid clinician and expressive arts therapist passionate about offering creative, individualized opportunities for clients of all ages to explore their identities, emotions, and lived experiences through artistic expression.
As a person-centered, trauma-informed expressive arts therapist, Robby prioritizes creating a safe, collaborative space where clients feel seen, respected, and empowered. They believe that clients are the experts of their own experiences and approach therapy with a curious, nonjudgmental stance. Robby works from an anti-oppressive, non-pathologizing framework that honors the influence of relationships, environments, and cultural contexts on mental health. Recognizing that growth happens both in and between sessions, they take a strengths-based, resource-oriented approach, helping clients imagine and shape the lives they wish to lead.
Robby earned an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. Expressive arts therapy integrates artmaking, creativity, and imagination with traditional “talk therapy,” allowing clients to engage with various art forms—such as visual art, writing, music, dance/movement, and drama—in a way that feels authentic to them. Whether clients are interested in exploring their creativity for the first time or are already engaged in a creative practice, Robby helps them use artistic processes to express themselves, reframe experiences, and foster healing in ways that transcend verbal communication.
Robby has worked with clients across the lifespan, including elders and children, offering arts-based individual and group therapy to address a wide range of concerns. They have extensive experience supporting youth and families navigating grief after significant losses. This work shaped Robby’s grief-informed approach, which recognizes that grief can arise from many types of loss—whether it’s the death of a loved one, changes in relationships, or shifts in identity. They are particularly passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals through grief, recognizing the unique challenges and isolation that can accompany this process.
With a deep commitment to curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, Robby helps clients not only process their experiences but also envision new possibilities. Their goal is to walk alongside each person on their therapeutic journey, empowering them to explore, grow, and create a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.
Please note: All sessions are virtual and the client must be in the state of Massachusetts.
